What is Elastic Cloud Enterprise?
editWhat is Elastic Cloud Enterprise?
editElastic Cloud Enterprise, or ECE, is the same product that powers the Elastic Cloud hosted offering, available for installation on the hardware and in the environment you choose. ECE can be deployed anywhere - on public or private clouds, virtual machines, or even on bare metal hardware. Because all services are containerized, they support a wide range of configurations.
ECE might be a preferred choice if your enterprise data cannot be hosted on a public cloud, for example where regulated or sensitive data cannot leave your internal network. ECE also lets you reuse your existing investment in on-premise infrastructure.
If you need to manage multiple Elastic deployments across teams or geographies, you can leverage ECE to centralize deployment management for:
- Provisioning
- Monitoring
- Scaling
- Replication
- Upgrades
- Backup and restore
Centralizing the management of deployments with ECE enforces uniform versioning, data governance, backup, and user policies. Increased hardware utilization through better management can also reduce total cost.
