Elastic Stack 8.13.1 released

Patch_release_dark.png

Version 8.13.1 of the Elastic Stack was released today. We recommend you upgrade to this latest version. We recommend 8.13.1 over the previous version 8.13.0.

The 8.13.1 patch release contains a fix for a bug in the 8.10 release. The bug affects clusters running 8.10+ that either have an active downsampling configuration or have used downsampling since upgrading to version 8.10+. It causes clusters to fail upgrading to 8.13.0, as Elasticsearch nodes on 8.13.0 are unable to join the cluster.

This is caused by an unversioned change to the wire format of DownsampleShardTaskParams persistent tasks, as part of an effort to support unlimited dimensions per time-series index through TSID hashing. This type of persistent tasks was added in version 8.10.

For details of the issues that have been fixed and a full list of changes for each product in this version, please refer to the release notes.
