Elasticsearch 5.4.2 released
Today we are pleased to announce the bug fix release of Elasticsearch 5.4.2, based on Lucene 6.5.1. This is the latest stable release, and is already available for deployment on Elastic Cloud, our Elasticsearch-as-a-service platform.
Latest stable release in 5.x:
You can read about all the changes in the release notes linked above, but there are a few changes which are worth highlighting:
-
Installations using
systemd
and with X-Pack installed could hang when being shut down. - An aggregation could cause an OOM because memory was allocated before incrementing the circuit breaker.
- Terms aggregations which sort on a sub-aggregation will now allocate less memory up front.
- Geo-point fields from indices created in 2.x did not work with the field stats API.
Please download Elasticsearch 5.4.2, try it out, and let us know what you think on Twitter (@elastic) or in our forum. You can report any problems on the GitHub issues page.
